Denis Hamel, CPA, CPA•IFA, CIRP, LIT, CFF, CFE, is Partner and Leader of Financial Advisory Services at Mazars in Canada. With 30 years of experience in financial advisory services, he is especially known for his sound advice and innovative solutions on investigations, risk management and litigation support, in the areas of commercial crime and financial disputes.

Denis focuses on the management and prevention of crisis situations as well as damage quantification while working closely with legal advisors, business leaders and regulatory bodies. He also regularly lectures on various subjects related to forensic accounting.

Career Profile

Prior to joining Mazars, Denis has spent 30 years, including 2 years in Paris, building his expertise in renowned accounting firms at both national and international levels. During these years, he conducted and performed engagements regarding corporate restructuring, due diligence and forensic accounting, mainly in civil and commercial law.

He has led numerous complex mandates for civil and criminal cases and testified as an expert before the Superior Court of Québec, administrative tribunals, arbitrators and the Federal Court.
